As you noticed, the "Notify me via email..." feature of a TimeControl or React is not functioning. We will be re-enabling this feature soon.  

Also, regarding the 502 Http error code from pushingbox.com, I wanted to note that this is a pushingbox server failure. 

In the meanwhile, if you want to prevent errors due to webread failures, an option to consider is to use the 'try', 'catch' construct:
